Professional Staff

The Montessori Teacher is the link between the child and the classroom environment. She is a facilitator who prepares the classroom and presents lessons to individuals or small groups based on their needs and interests. Most importantly, the teacher is a careful observer who evaluates the progress of a child in order to determine the needs of that individual.

At MCHL, all lead teachers, as well as many of the assistants, are in the process of becoming certified by the American Montessori Society (AMS) or an AMS approved program. All of the MCHL directors are also full-time certified teachers. Together, they understand the needs and capabilities of young children and are sensitive to the demands faced by families today. As parents of children who attended Montessori schools, the directors of MCHL appreciate the foundation a Montessori education provides and can relate to the everyday concerns of parents.
