Founded by teachers, in 1996.
MCHL opened its doors to twenty eager families. Four teachers founded it because Loudoun County wanted a Montessori school — and it quickly grew, in enrollment and in its reputation for excellence in early childhood education.

To create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children — classrooms designed to spark curiosity and foster discovery, where learning is inquisitive, cooperative and non-competitive.
An atmosphere of mutual respect and kindness that always recognises the inherent dignity of each child — and supportive, caring relationships with the families who entrust their children to us.
Four teachers open MCHL to 20 families.
An Infant and Toddler program and a bilingual class open, in answer to what families need.
A staff of forty, every lead teacher Montessori certified — and more than half have been here over ten years.
The original mission: a loving, stimulating environment under the careful guidance of certified Montessori teachers.

For the past six years, MCHL has been a second home for our family. I was looking for a true Montessori school for my sons – one that follows the principles of the Montessori method and nurtures the whole child. That is what we found at MCHL. … Any parent who chooses to send their child to MCHL will know that their child is being cherished, supported, and challenged every single day.— The Moore Family
Choosing to send our three children to MCHL has been one of the best and most impactful decisions that we have made for them. The administration and teaching excellence at MCHL is unmatched.— The Boutcher Family
As a parent going off to work, I feel safe knowing that they are in a warm and loving environment and are surrounded by people who care for them. I will highly recommend MCHL to anyone!— Karen Boodlal
