A sunny Early Childhood classroom

Child-centred, not teacher-centred

You won’t see the teacher at the front of the room at a chalkboard, but down at your child’s level, working with individuals or a small group.

A mixed-age classroom

Younger children learn by watching older ones. Older children gain confidence, leadership and responsibility by setting the example.

The gift of choice

Lessons introduce concepts; the real learning happens when your child chooses to explore, repeat and perfect them.

Hands-on materials

Carefully designed Montessori materials give children a concrete understanding of abstract ideas such as mathematics.

Group time and play

Circle time to share, sing, read a story and celebrate birthdays — and ample playground time for running, digging and climbing.

One size does not fit all

Lessons arrive at precise moments of development, so your child is challenged in a highly personalised way.

The kindergarten year

When the seeds of learning come to fruition.

Your child stays in the same Early Childhood classroom for three years, including the traditional kindergarten year. Reading and writing come to life from sounds and symbols. We introduce numbers and the decimal system, geometric figures and the countries of our world.

In Kindergarten, Spanish meets twice a week, with weekly yoga, music, movement and computer class.

Children leave with a strong set of academic skills — and, far more importantly, the attitude that learning is fun, exciting and boundless.

Parent reviews
Every one of his teachers were impressive in their knowledge of Montessori principles and at the same time intentional about making their classrooms caring, inclusive spaces. This is a true Montessori school.
— Amy Hall
We have enjoyed watching our two daughters grow from small toddlers in training pants to confident kindergartners who possess a multitude of skills. … MCHL became a second family throughout the years, and it was indeed very difficult to say goodbye.
— Dania & Rami Abuhamdeh
Since that move, his language has skyrocketed, he identifies feelings and he shows a love of learning beyond his age. MCHL isn’t just a school, it is a community of parents and teachers that want the best for their children.
