Inclement weather
MCHL does not follow Loudoun County Public Schools for closings and delays. Check our website or call the school at 6:30 am. The director emails families by 6:30 am.
If roads are expected to become hazardous during the day and Fairfax or Loudoun County schools close early, MCHL may close early too. We don’t always follow the county decision, but we will do everything we can to ensure safety. We’ll reach you by mass email through our Google group — please keep your email address current with us.
In a mid-day closing, your authorised emergency contacts will be called if parents can’t pick up in time. MCHL always remains open until every child has been safely picked up.
Lunch
Children in the Full Day Program can bring lunch from home or join the catered hot lunch program for the school year ($100 per month; the menu goes home monthly). Lunches from home should be nutritious — no carbonated drinks or candy — and anything warm or cold should come in a thermos or with a cold pack, as MCHL cannot heat or refrigerate lunches.
Food allergies
Parents of children with special dietary needs must inform MCHL to guard against allergic reactions. Families in the class of a child with strong food allergies will be told the nature of the allergies.
